As customers and producers are much more
critical concerning pesticides, many ‘old’
varieties do not fulfil the demands of our
days – to flower in abundance without
treatment of plant protecting agents.


Therefore the breeding department of KORDES has
started 15 years ago to focus on the selection of more
robust, disease-resistant and floriferous varieties.
But you need a lot of patience especially to create
new climbing roses: there is often a testing period of
10 to 12 years before a variety will be introduced to
the market, because you have to evaluate not only
resistance against diseases and flowerage but also
growth habit and performance.

The Climbing Max is a new assortment of KORDES in which the most beautiful and healthiest varieties have been regrouped and only the
best out of the breeding work of the company KORDES have been chosen.
Only those who have proved to have a better flowerage and a better growth than the ‚old‘ climbing roses are welcomed to join the group of „Climbing Max“. 3 varieties of the Climbing Max have been decorated ADR in the meantime: Golden Gate, Jasmina and Laguna.
